Look around for a better model like the Norpro. This could be a handy little mixer if it were not for the fact that the switch plate inside is too close to the contact making the on-off switch nearly inoperable. Last night it just turned on by itself while no one was within 5 feet of it.
It won't mix heavy things such as ice and thick shakes but works super for everything else. I really like it.
A great item and a very reasonable price. This battery powered mixer is perfect for mixing drinks, expecially those containing powers like vitamin supplements and such. It's high speed mixing makes taking such products much easier as they're more completely disolved.
Mixing any powder into any liquid (I imagine metamucil and such are great, too, though I don't need those drinks). I wasn't sure I'd love this. I'm glad it turned out to be a hit. I also love its tiny travel case (which holds the blender and its 2 mixing whisks in the same amount of space as a couple tubes of lipstick).
In any case, if you drink protein shakes and want to be able to take those or other mixes to work or traveling, here is a very viable option for how to effectively mix. since face it, a spoon just doesn't cut it for whey or real cocoa powder. yeah, I've splattered myself (not the first or last gadget I've tested beyond the written guidelines). One thing to note, though, is that your glass size will matter and you want something pretty tall just cause.
this is great. It was inexpensive, it works on batteries (uses very little power-I've yet to replace batteries yet), and works well. it was going to be a hit or bust, in any case. this works really well and clean up is a 5 second rinse away.
Awesome. For anyone who might not want the hassle of cleaning up a big, heavy hamilton beach drink mixer when you just want to, say, add protein to something. Making cocoa.
also, just rinse it off - no spoon to wash. I love these things. I mix my coffee with milk & sweetener and whip it into a foam with this drink mixer, so I feel like I'm drinking Starbucks.
